Program Description

This online webinar will take place at the time and date listed above. The webinar will be recorded and available on demand until January 10, 2025. This 2-hour CME webinar will be available with the intention of having a resource that can be viewed on demand to further the education of all those who register. There will be a wide array of topics covered in the field of hair restoration to stimulate further study and provide enhancements to one’s practice. The online live program will include presentations and audience participation via live questions, written Q&A.

Professional Practice Gap

The field of hair restoration encompasses a wide range of treatment options – both medical and surgical. Innovation is the key to advancing. While international meetings are a great way to share information to a large group at once, some of these novel ideas may be missed by those not in attendance. In addition, helpful tips are less likely to be published in general medical journals since hair transplant is a very small niche made up of a broad array of physician specialties. Lastly, many surgical tips are more appropriately shared through video format rather than in printed materials.

Educational Need

Necessity is the mother of invention, and this is particularly true for a medical/surgical niche like hair transplantation. As there is no formal training for hair transplantation, bright and creative physicians from a variety of training backgrounds inevitably find ways to improve the process of medical and surgical restoration. In order for new techniques and experiences to be shared amongst our colleagues across wide geographic distance and diverse specialties, it is crucial to provide a means to readily access the information. Through this webinar we can disseminate the innovative presentations to colleagues unable to attend the live meeting where originally presented. This allows a wider audience to benefit from new ideas and add to our growing body of knowledge in hair restoration.

Learning Objectives

After this webinar, the attendees should have increased awareness of the following topics:

  • Medical treatment for female hair loss with minoxidil and 5-alpha reductase inhibitors;
  • Comparing punch designs for optimal extractions in preview long hair FUE;
  • Understanding the effect of oral minoxidil for non-scarring alopecia;
  • The use of cooling and vibration devices for reduced pain during injection of local anesthesia;
  • The technique of axillary hair surgical restoration;
  • Methods for facilitating extraction of grafts with hyper-elastic skin;
  • The utilization of blunt cannulas to deliver platelet rich plasma.

Target Audience and Prerequisites

This webinar is taught at the physician level. It is open to all levels and geared toward advanced hair restoration surgeons.
