Program Description

The live online webinar will occur on the date and time as noted. The live program will be recorded and available for viewing on demand until January 10, 2026. This 2.5 hour live webinar will be recorded with the intention to be re-watched or viewed as on-demand education. This webinar is being conducted to provide physicians with scientific updates and current studies related to the management of different types of complications that may occur during or after hair transplant surgery.

As a result of this activity, learners will gain more knowledge in current practices to manage the wide range of hair transplant related complications.

The online live component will include presentations, panel discussion, and audience participation via verbal questions and discussion, typing chat Q&A and polling.

Professional Practice Gap

Despite the increasing popularity of hair restoration surgery, many physicians lack comprehensive training in managing complications that may arise during or after the procedure. This gap in knowledge and skills can lead to suboptimal outcomes for patients and potential legal ramifications for practitioners.

By addressing the professional practice gap through specialized education and training in managing complications in hair restoration surgery, physicians can enhance patient safety, improve outcomes, and mitigate potential risks associated with the procedure.

Educational Need

There is a critical need for physicians performing hair restoration surgery to receive specialized training in identifying, preventing, and managing complications associated with the procedure. This includes early recognition of signs of complications, infection prevention and treatment, addressing donor site issues, managing scarring and pigmentation problems, and providing psychological support to patients experiencing poor outcomes.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify possibly vascular complications and explain how to effectively manage them.
  • Analyze and manage factors which may cause poor hair growth.
  • Manage scarring and pigmentation issues in hair surgery to enhance aesthetic results and patient satisfaction.
  • Describe the psychological impacts of poor outcomes in hair restoration surgery and provide appropriate counselling and support to patients.
  • Discuss corrective surgery techniques for failed transplants to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Cite case studies of complex complications in hair restoration surgery to develop a comprehensive understanding of management strategies.

Target Audience and Prerequisites

This webinar is taught at the physician level. It is open to all levels and geared toward advanced hair restoration surgeons.
