About the Doctor

Steven C. Chang, M.D. graduated from Keio University, Tokyo, Japan, where he received his Doctor of Medicine degree.  He completed two years surgery training and two years anesthesiology training at Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York, NY.

Dr. Chang believes different people have different need, according to their needs he develops unique plan using hair transplant surgery, medication, and hair style design to satisfy his patients.  Especially hair style design is very important and easy to carry out.

We all have different hair color, texture, density, gender, age, hair loss size and location. Using only one graft size to deal with all factors is not for patients’ best interest. Therefore, Dr. Chang uses combination of different graft size for hair transplant surgery, under different conditions.

Dr. Chang designed an easy way to calculate the irregular recipient size. Without knowing the size of the recipient area, there is no way to figure out how much hair needed for transplantation.

Additionally, Dr. Chang believes hair transplant surgery should be nearly painless.  He developed the Twilight Zone Anesthesia Method.
