ACHIEVEMENTS
Dr. Civas is the first Turkish Surgeon to be certified with the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS), which is one of the most prestigious diplomas in hair surgery in the world.
For the first time in the world, by comparing three different FUE instruments, Dr. Civas determined the damages of FUE. His work shed light on the limitations of FUE and helped in determining the appropriate candidate for FUE. His research was presented in ESHRS (European Society of Hair Restoration Surgery) conference held in Madrid and was also published in the ISHRS journal (International Society of Hair Surgery).
Dr. Civas is the second person in the world to research hair transplantation for Alopecia Areata, and his research was published as a scientific paper. His work on techniques of hair transplantation on scars on the scalp, beard, eyebrows, and moustache as a result of burn accidents and their case studies were recognized as part of the large-scale series works in the ISHRS congress in Boston.
He wrote a chapter on “Vascular Lesions: Nd-YAG Use” in a book about Nd YAG laser use that was published and printed by Nova Publisher in America.
He is the head editor of the special issue of “Hair Transplant” in one of Turkey’s most prestigious scientific medical journals called Turkish Clinics Journal, which is the first book on hair transplantation to be published in Turkey.
Dr. Civas served as head moderator of the “Hair Transplantation Course”, held for the first time at the 21st Prof. Dr Lütfü Tat Dermatology Congress.
Dr. Civas has published a book, 5 book chapters, 40 scientific articles and 22 scientific posters. He has participated in 79 national and international congresses as an educator, speaker and chairman.

Clinical Associate Professor of Dermatology specialized in Hair Loss Treatment/ Board Certified by the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery/ Member of the Fellows of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery
Dr. Ekrem Civas is a Clinical Associate Professor of Dermatology and is considered as one of Turkey’s leading specialists in hair restoration. He is the first doctor in Turkey to become a member of the Fellows of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (FISHRS). Board certified by the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS), Dr. Civas developed an interest in Hair Transplantation in 1999. He trained and practiced in Poland, Canada, New York, Sweden, Spain and Turkey before opening his own private practice in Ankara, Turkey in 2007. He was promoted to Associate Professor of Dermatology in 2021.
Dr. Civas is not just a meticulous, detail-oriented dermatologist but also a published academician and teaching instructor. He is known for his extensive research work on hair transplantation and dermatology and has published numerous papers on a national and international level.
