About the Doctor

Current practice is exclusively limited to hair restoration and hair loss management. He has been involved with hair transplantation since almost eighteen years. Starting off with mini and micrografting and later graduating to Follicular Unit Transplant/Micro grafting (FUT) and now to follicular unit extraction and non-scalp donor harvest, he has been a part of the evolving scenario in hair restoration in the country. Since then he has been involved in over hundreds of hair transplants and is one of the few Plastic surgeons in the country with a dedicated practice in hair restoration. He believes in a combination of medical and surgical management in pattern hair loss. He combines different techniques of donor harvest like strip harvest, follicular unit extraction (FUE), body hair transplant based on patient merits and criteria, being well versed in both techniques of donor harvest. He is one of the strongest advocates of a holistic approach to hair loss problems combining surgery, medications and camouflage. In practice, he lists as priorities, patient education and practice of evidence based medicine. He combines this evidence-based method with clinical judgement and professional expertise to deliver the best possible treatment options to the patient. The basic premise of the movement is to provide transparency and to assure the patients that techniques and procedures will provide the best possible interventions or treatments. In his own personal philosophy, he is conservative in his surgical approach, educates patients about their options, always trying to promise less and deliver more. Apart from the practice of hair loss management, he has special interests in hair as a miniature organ, and all disorders arising from its malfunction. As a chief investigator, he has conducted clinical trials to investigate role of Human Platelet Lysate in hair loss management, efficacy of different peptides in hair loss management. He is a member of the Pantene Hair Research Institute, the first-ever global forum focused on the scientific understanding of healthy hair and the advancement of hair science, technologies and products. He pursues his love for teaching by conducting training programs for eligible doctors in hair restoration at his center. He has been invited as faculty for meetings all over the country.
