Dr. Yeimy Álvarez Martínez is the Founder and Scientific Director of DERMASTER® in Barranquilla, Colombia. Her practice focuses on the clinical evaluation and medical and surgical management of hair loss in men and women. She has more than 15 years of experience in hair restoration and has been a member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) since 2013.

Her advanced training in Europe and North America includes follicular unit excision (FUE), follicular unit transplantation through strip harvesting (FUT), and robotic-assisted hair transplantation. She integrates surgical planning with medical management to address both the aesthetic consequences of hair loss and the underlying disease process.

Her clinical approach begins with diagnostic assessment, considering the distribution and progression of hair loss, follicular miniaturization, scalp condition, medical history, and previous treatment response. Establishing the cause of alopecia and assessing its activity guide the selection, timing, and sequence of therapeutic interventions.

Surgical planning emphasizes donor-area preservation and the judicious allocation of a finite follicular resource.
