About the Doctor
Dr. Craig L. Ziering is both the Founder and Medical Director of Ziering Medical. He graduated from Nova Southeastern University, College of Osteopathic Medicine in Miami Beach, Florida and completed his residency in Dermatology at Ohio University/Grandview Medical Center where he was Chief Resident. He would go on to become the Associate Medical Director for a nationaaly renowned hair tranplant company. In 2003, Dr. Ziering opened his private practice which focuses on an elevated patient exerience and optimal outcomes with unconditional post-operative support and ongoing hair loss management strategies for patients with genetic hair loss.
As one of the pioneers in hair transplantation, Dr. Ziering has over 30 years of experience perfecting the art and science of hair restoraqtion surgery and has performed 25,000+ and growing hair transplant procedures. His expertise has led to innovative breakthroughs with technology like the Ziering Blades and Ziering Scope, as well as surgical techniques such as the Ziering Tunnel Technique and the Ziering Whorl. Recognizing that people have quite different hair growth patterns at the back of their heads. Dr. Ziering set about to classify these patterns and then develop transplantation techniques to recreate them. This classification system and reconstrutive surgical process allow the natural restoration of your hair pattern for the bald spot on the back of your head. Today, the Ziering Whorl is revolutionizing the way back of the head baldness is treated. Dr. Ziering remains at the forefront of the latest advances in the field of Hair Restoration and is committed developing the next generation of hair transplant surgeons, having trained 25 hair restoration fellows.
In 2006, he was recognized as Surgeon of the Month by the Hair Transplant Forum International organization. Dr. Ziering is the past President of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery. In addition to the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, Dr. Ziering is also a member of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and the American Academy of Dermatology.
The author of many published articles. Dr. Ziering is a sought-after speaker at scientific and aesthetic conferences in the US and abroad. Affectionately known as Dr. Z to his patients, he remains active in hair loss and regenerative hair restoration research. One of the go-to hair loss experts for the media, Dr. Ziering has been featured on NBC’s Today Show, ABC’s hit show Extreme Makeover, E! News, Doctor 90210, Entertainment Tonight, Extra, Oprah Daily, Elle, Goop, InStyle, Good Housekeeping, the NY Post, KTLA, the Hollywood Reporter, Allure, Self, Shape, HuffPost, Elite Daily, and was the featured hair transplant surgeon on the Netflix series, Celebrity Plastic Sugeons of Beverly Hills.
