About the Doctor

Dr. Maxim Chumak is a Diplomate of American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery who graduated with Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and worked over 7 years as ICU and OR Registered Nurse. He was accepted into American University of Antigua and completed his Medical Doctor degree in 2008. Dr. Chumak joined U.S. Army in 2010 in rank of Captain and has served as Active Army Reserve physician since then. Dr. Chumak graduated General Surgery Internship at Michigan State University in 2009, and Family Medicine residency at Wayne State University in 2012. He has been exclusively practicing hair restoration since 2016. Dr. Max was awarded a Certificate of Added Qualification in the Science of Hair Restoration Surgery by American Board Hair Restoration Surgery ® (ABHRS). He is a voting member and presenting faculty at International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery ® (ISHRS) Dr. Max opened Hair By Dr. Max, Restoration Center in 2016. Since 2017 he was continuously designated as Platinum ARTAS® provider based on the highest level of clinical expertise. Dr. Chumak incorporates the most recent innovations in hair restoration. He actively participates in research and development of robotic technology and serves as principal investigator for Venus Concept® since 2018. His vision was to create a modern, cutting edge technology clinic with a patient centered approach. He is a strong believer that only hair transplant surgeon should perform every part of the hair restoration procedure. That is why Dr. Max takes only one patient per day and personally performs every step of the procedure. Dr. Chumak is working continuously to develop new technology and devices. He is involved in many projects including innovative methods of robotic and manual direct implantation, optimized graft storage, electronically controlled environment of graft processing and others. His innovative ideas are implemented during every stage of the hair restoration procedure in Hair By Dr. Max. He is in the process of patenting newer technologies. Dr. Chumak has developed an optimized system of direct hair implantation which allows to implant much faster than current methods.
