He subsequently attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychobiology. He then pursued his medical education at Ross University School of Medicine, earning his medical degree and beginning the advanced surgical training that would ultimately define his career.

Advanced Surgical Training

Following medical school, Dr. Kahen pursued rigorous general surgery training in New York City, internships and residency training in General Surgery at North Shore Long Island Jewish Hospital and Beth Israel Hospital.

During his surgical training, he achieved performance in the top percentile on the American Board of Surgery in-service examinations, reflecting his strong academic and clinical foundation in surgery.

Dr. Kahen subsequently received specialized training in organ transplantation at NYU, further developing his experience with highly intricate surgical procedures, tissue handling, microsurgical precision, and the principles of successful graft survival.
