The Italian Society for Hair Science and Restoration (S.I.Tri.) and the ISHRS Europe Council will present a World Live Surgery Workshop on Thursday, May 26, 2022, the day before the 44th Congress of S.I.Tri.
The workshop will take place at the Istituto Medico Toscano, just outside of Florence, Tuscany. It will feature 3 simultaneous surgeries showcasing 6 of the most in-demand FUE as well strip FUT harvesting techniques and multiple implantation methods. Engage in dialogue and discussion as our prestigious expert guest faculty demonstrate the newest techniques and share surgical pearls.

World Live Surgery Workshop Operating Faculty and Cases

Case 1: Long Hair Harvesting and Hairline Reconstruction
In case number one, the patient’s donor will be harvested without shaving. Our faculty surgeons will demonstrate two different techniques. Dr. Otavio Boaventura from Belo Horizonte, Brazil, will show us long hair, or unshaven, FUE using the Trivellini Mamba device, and then he will stick-and-place the grafts with Lion sharp implanters. Dr. Vincenzo Gambino from Milan, Italy, will oversee the case and demonstrate the classic Strip FUT technique with microscopic dissection, and then place the grafts with forceps.

Case 2: Shaven FUE and Crown Reconstruction
In case number two, Dr. Piero Tesauro from Milan, Italy, will oversee the case. Our patient’s donor area will be fully shaved and harvested using blunt punches. Dr. Mauro Speranzini from Sao Paulo, Brazil, will use the Brazilian Beltec device, and Dr. Nilofer Farjo from Manchester, United Kingdom, will demonstrate the latest version of Dr. Devroye’s WAW device with the trumpet punch. Grafts will be placed using Rainbow blunt implanters in pre-made recipient sites. As an added bonus, Dr. Moonkyu Kim from South Korea will demonstrate his INRUT multi-graft sharp implanter.

Case 3: Shaven FUE and Hairline Reconstruction
In case number three, overseen by Dr. Marco Toscani from Rome, Italy, we will show two different principles of FUE harvesting. Dr. Tayfun Oguzoglu from Istanbul, Turkey, will use Dr. Umar’s Zeus device using a blunt flared punch and classic forceps for placing the grafts. He will also demonstrate placing using customized self-loading blunt implanters. Dr. Georgios Zontos will use the classic inner bevel sharp punch using the Ertip device, followed by stick-and-place using Ertip sharp implanters.
Hear the surgeons discuss why they prefer certain tools, compare and contrast the multiple techniques and exchange opinions of how to perform each case.
