Female Pattern Hair Loss – Dr. Sharon Keene Discusses Treatment Options
Female pattern hair loss affects roughly fifty percent of women by the time they get to be post menopausal. Unlike androgenetic alopecia and male hair loss, it is not always easy to detect when you look at a woman with thinning hair that it is medically treatable. Therefore, it typically takes more of a diagnostic acumen from the doctor because not all women are good candidates for a hair transplant surgery.
In this video, Dr. Sharon Keene, ISHRS Fellow and Past President discusses treatment options after she has done a full evaluation on a patient to identify the causes of female hair thinning before considering if the patient is a good candidate for a hair transplant.
