GENEVA, IL. – April 30, 2010. The latest technological breakthroughs in diagnosing, treating and preventing hair loss will be presented at the 18th Annual Scientific Meeting of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS), the world’s leading medical authority on hair loss and hair restoration. The meeting will take place October 20-24, 2010, at the Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center in Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

More than 500 physicians and surgical assistants from around the world dedicated to advancing the art and science of hair restoration are expected to attend this premier Continuing Medical Educational event, which offers interactive sessions, live patient viewing, video surgery in high definition, expert panels and guest speakers.

The theme of this year’s meeting, " Revolution and Evolution," speaks to the strides made in hair restoration surgery over the past decades and the promising technological refinements and scientific research of tomorrow that will continue to enhance results.

Every year, hot topics that are presented include the latest diagnostics and clinical applications for hair loss, factors that contribute to hair loss in women, best practices in non-scalp hair transplantation (including eyelash and eyebrow transplantation), and updates on new research in hair cloning.

To coordinate interviews with leading hair restoration physicians from around the world or to attend the meeting and register for a complimentary press pass, members of the media can contact the ISHRS at [email protected]. In order to demonstrate the virtually indistinguishable appearance of today’s hair transplants from everyday hair, the ISHRS invites the public to take the "Hair Transplant Challenge." This new online survey is designed to test a person’s ability to correctly identify hair transplant patients from decoy patients in a series of photos. To take part in the survey, go to www.ishrs.org/survey. The survey will be available until August 2010.
